VClock ("we", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This page explains how the application handles your data.
Data controller
The data controller for VClock is Jithin Suresh Babu, Salzmannstraße 27, 81739 München, Germany, reachable at contact@vclock.eu. Contact us there for any privacy-related enquiry or to exercise your GDPR rights. The same details, in statutory form, are on the imprint page.
Data stored locally
VClock stores the following data exclusively in your browser's localStorage — nothing is transmitted to any server:
- Preferences — theme, language, time format, zoom level, digit colour. Retained until you clear your browser's site data.
- Alarms — alarm times and labels you have set. Retained until you clear your browser's site data.
- Recent alarms — the last five alarms that fired, offered as one-tap presets. Retained until you clear your browser's site data.
- Study history — for each of the last 30 days, the number of completed focus sessions and total focused minutes. No clock times or timestamps are stored, so the log cannot show when in the day you were working. Clearable at any time via "Clear history" on the Study Timer.
Your advertising choice is not in this list, because VClock does not record it. It is stored by Google's consent management platform in its own first-party cookies — see below.
Advertising — Google AdSense
This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. AdSense is operated by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Advertising is the only way this site is funded, and the only reason any third party is involved at all.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google's own certified consent management platform (Google LLC, IAB TCF vendor ID 300) asks for your choice before any personalised advertising is served. It records that choice in first-party cookies on this domain — an IAB TCF v2.2 consent string in euconsent-v2, plus Google's own FCCDCF / FCNEC — retained for up to 13 months. VClock itself never reads or writes them.
If you consent, Google AdSense may set advertising cookies on your device and process your IP address, browser type, pages visited and approximate location in order to select and measure personalised advertisements. This is processing of personal data under the GDPR. Advertising cookies are retained for up to 13 months.
If you refuse, ads are served in non-personalised mode: no advertising cookie is written and no advertising identifier is created for you. Google still receives your IP address and the page URL as part of the ad request itself, which is technically necessary to deliver an ad at all and to detect click fraud. There is no version of this site with ads and without that request.
The AdSense script itself loads on every page view, before you answer, because it is the script that shows the consent message and that serves the non-personalised ads if you refuse. Loading it is not the same as tracking you: what your answer controls is whether cookies are written and whether the ads are personalised, via Google Consent Mode v2.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Privacy settings link in the footer of every page, which reopens the same consent message. Withdrawing is exactly as easy as consenting, as Art. 7(3) GDPR requires. Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland Google does not show a consent message; there, and in addition anywhere, you can control personalisation directly via Google Ad Settings. Google uses ad data in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
Analytics — none
There is no analytics on this site. Google Analytics was removed in September 2026 and nothing replaced it: no page-view beacon, no session recording, no heatmaps, no A/B testing, no first-party counter of any kind. Nothing measures your visit except the web server's own request log and the aggregate reports Google provides about the ads it served.
Contact form — Formspree
If you use the contact form, the name, email address, and message you submit are transmitted to and stored by Formspree, Inc. (USA) in order to deliver your message to us. See Formspree's Privacy Policy for details. Submissions are retained by Formspree for as long as needed to handle your enquiry.
International data transfers
Google and Formspree are US-based companies. Where your data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, this is done under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses, as described in each provider's own privacy policy linked above.
No other tracking
Google AdSense is the only third-party script on this site, and Formspree receives data only if you submit the contact form. There are no social-media tracking pixels, no analytics, no embedded videos, no external fonts and no other third-party scripts of any kind.
Legal basis (GDPR)
Personalised advertising via Google AdSense is based on your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), collected through Google's certified consent management platform. Processing of contact-form submissions is based on your consent given by submitting the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw either at any time as described above, and withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact contact@vclock.eu — we respond within 30 days. For data held by Google, you can also act directly via myaccount.google.com. For data stored locally in this app, open the Privacy Policy from the app footer, where you can download or delete all your locally stored data with one click — or clear your browser's site data for this domain directly.
